L&M began in 2019 out of necessity for a work bag that integrates all the needs of professionals on the move. Subject to few options or the "pink and shrink" phenomenon, we as women are often left carrying two bags (the "nice one" and a tote bag) or a plain computer bag with little aesthetic value. We also found many "fast fashion" options that were not made to last. The Workbag strives to be as beautiful as it is functional.

Handmade in New York City

The L&M Workbag is handmade from start to finish here in New York City from 40+ components and pattern pieces. From day one, we have only collaborated with small businesses, veteran owned businesses, and US factories to make our Workbag. We strongly believe in supporting this. As L&M grows, we will continue to work with those that prioritize worker safety and fair compensation.

At L&M, we value using premium materials that are ethically sourced with a conscious regard for environmental impact. We are proud to make our work bag in an alternative cactus leather that mimics traditional leather seamlessly. As technology advances and more materials become available to small businesses, we are dedicated to continuing our search for ethical and environmentally friendly materials.

Our Signature Shoe Keeper

We are excited to introduce our Signature Shoe Keeper - a secret compartment located at the bottom of our Workbag designed to be separate from your belongings. Use it to hold your sneakers, flats, or a wet umbrella once you’ve arrived at all the places you’re going. When not in use, the compartment folds up snuggly and can be secured to the side of the bag.
